Parks and Recreation
The Shadeland Park has recently undergone many improvements and continues to do so. With fun items for all ages, you will find everything from baby swings to large playground equipment for older kids. The Park also has a basketball/pickle ball court as well as a baseball field and concession stand where local youth leagues practice and play their games.
Adults can enjoy the picnic shelter filled with tables, bench swings throughout the park or the walking path surrounding the playground equipment and basketball court. The park is also ADA accessible and includes “Freestyle” swings where handicapped children are able to swing with a caregiver. The Park is in the process of expanding into the large field to the East of the baseball field, so keep an eye out for updates! Come enjoy the Park – maybe even grab some pizza and have a picnic.
The Park Committee is made up of members of the Shadeland Community who are constantly looking for ways to bring more fun and outdoor recreation to our community. The Park Committee is responsible for generating ideas, presenting those to the Town Council for approval and then bringing those ideas to life. Do you have something you think would be a great addition to the park? Reach out and let us know! Follow us on Facebook for updates!

This is a great park! It’s out in the country, surrounded by corn fields. There’s a little baseball diamond. It has a great, new, well maintained playground, with lots of different things for the kids to play on. A few benches near the park, but a large covered area above the park with picnic tables. A basketball court.
There’s also a small walkway that circles the playground, which is good for littles to ride bikes. No bathrooms, but a clean portapotty.
